Poetry of Heart
When the nightingale has no tune,
And the stars cease to shine.
When diamonds lose their luster,
And there is no color in these eyes of mine.
When gold is worth less than plastic,
And the sun is what makes the air.
When a few pennies can buy almost anything,
And I no longer have a heart to share.
When winter no longer brings a cloud,
And summer brings no sun.
When spring no longer brings a flower,
And my blood no longer runs.
When gold is found at the end of a rainbow,
And the ocean no longer reaches the sands.
When unicorns are used instead of cars,
And the gentleness leaves my hands.
When you can walk on a sun that’s cold to touch,
And the sky is no longer blue.
When the earth dries into a clump of sand,
Then, and only then, shall I stop loving you.
