Poetry of Heart
My heart has gone, has left me
Traveled to some far off distant coast.
It has taken a fast trip,
To reside in another host.
It heard the songs of gentle shores,
Of your sweet whispers upon the breeze.
It left its dwelling and left its duty,
To set out upon the seas.
I still wonder at how it left my body,
Where it did not beat fast, but free.
It did not ask to be dismissed,
It asked of naught from me.
It saw in the distance some bright light,
And did diligently pursue.
I asked it once to come back to me,
But it refused, it wanted you.
So it seems that you are stuck then,
As the keeper of my heart.
Guard it well till it comes back to me,
And from it never part.
I trust you as its keeper,
And the gentle soul you show.
For it is as the sun's owns brightness
Warms the earth below.
