Poetry of Heart
Goodbye, My Love
Goodbye, my love,
Must this I really say?
An eternal farewell to thee, my dear,
At the dawning of this day?

Tell me that all my love
Has not been given in vain,
As in a flood of winter
Comes a useless rain.

Let it be more as leaves of an evergreen,
Within the early month of May,
Nourished by the love of Spring showers
And the knowledge they will everlasting stay.

Bid me not say goodbye, my love,
And this, with thee, I plea.
Instead, my dear, a thousand hello's,
Should thee come back to me.
