Poetry of Heart
What Words Express?
Words, you want simple words
To fill the silence of your ears,
But some silence feels more
Than any group of words express.
Does the depth of what I feel not speak?
It screams within me by the hour.
Did a feather fall from heaven
To drift down upon the soil at my feet,
It would shatter the silence as a drum,
Where my heart can only whisper
And weep that it cannot be heard.
To fill the silence with silly words
When the feeling within the silence
Is so revered to a soul, and beyond speech.
Ask the stars to dance or the moon glow,
Ask for the sun to shine when clouds gray,
But pray, ask me not to speak my heart.
Ask me not to speak of how well I cherish,
Ask me not to speak where you do not feel.
Do not ask that I should speak my heart

When it matters not that I do so.
