Born in the state of Washington, United States, I have grown up and still live in the California Bay Area.

I think that good poetry is a matter of perspective. It has taken me quite a long time to find the voice and style that speaks my spirit. I have been writing since I was around fourteen. It seems that the lines that come at first, from nowhere when you are not trying to make them come, are often the best and truest...they come from the inspiration of spirit, soul and heart...not the mind. The mind gives the words to use, but the soul tells you how to use them. If they come from there, I don't care if someone else likes them... as long as when I read it over to myself it sounds right and true to the thought and vision I meant to say.

My view of life is through that of a wistful, romantic imagination. If you always see things as horrible...they will be. You have to visualize and believe in the things you want out of life...then go after them. There are far too many lovely things in the world to not see or consider...whether they are visual or more importantly what touches the soul just to think of. I have the greatest enjoyment when I can express what is in my soul. Sometimes that is through poetry or other writing, drawing, rock carving, or just being surrounded by nature. It is where peace finds the soul and love finds the heart, that bring the best to the spirit as a whole. Always inspire the dream and perceive yourself as you wish to be perceived.

Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations.
I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty,
believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.
--Louisa May Alcott

Dreams do not vanish, so long as people do not abandon them.
--Phantom F. Harlock

You give but little, when you give of your possessions.
It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.
--Kahlil Gibran
